Its bibliographic heritage is extremely valuable, including 53 incunabula and around 400 works from the 16th century.

With modern equipment suited to its main purpose - reading, this cultural space offers three reading rooms for adults, including a room equipped with individual reading booths, a children's reading room, a space for children's activities, a room with multimedia technology, an exhibition room and a 160-seat auditorium.
Guided tours, themed "From Roman Insula to Library" and "Revisiting the local history of Bracara Augusta", are available by appointment only, for groups of between 5 and 15 people.
