The store
Flor do Vouga is one of Minho's leading gastronomic restaurants, opening its doors every day at 8 a.m. to serve the best snacks, which are the most sought after by its customers.
History
Flor do Vouga was founded in 1943 by Adriano Tavares as a tribute to his hometown of Sever do Vouga. In the 1940s, alcoholic drinks could only be sold after midnight if accompanied by a plate of food. So this restaurant created a dish with two fried eggs and fried potatoes and a green broth to accompany the famous red vinho verde sold by the glass. It opened its doors at 7:00 am and closed at 6:00 am. Typical traditional dishes from Minho prevailed in the kitchen, such as feijoada, sarrabulho porridge, lamprey, veal, kid, codfish and hake fillets with Russian salad. In this way, it became a reference point for the people of Braga. In 1977, the company passed to the current owner Manuel Joaquim Marques Pereira.
