Our new brand sounds like future.
Braga is immense. In time and in the interconnected layers that echo through it.
It's historic. Transformative. Creative. Activist. Captivating. Expansionist. Experiential. Sonorous. Braga is vibrant.
In order to systematize the visual identity of the Braga brand, we realized early on that we needed to embody the most vibrant city in the country - and one of the most vibrant in Europe. We wanted to define a visual property for a philosophy of territory: a contemporary symbolic system to incorporate the experience of Braga from a perspective of past, present and (both) future.
In this search, we traveled several paths. Between Bom Jesus and Pedralva, between Sameiro and Maximinos, we found the permanence of a polyphonic city: one that effervesces through the multiplicity of voices, stories, traditions, ideas, opportunities - so many layers of affirmation in this city of possibility, hope and annunciation. And it was here that we knew that the physical identity of Braga's new brand should reflect this, and exonerate an element that resonates with all of this: everything that Braga is so vibrantly.
THE BELL:
WHAT
REPRESENT?
We chose the bell as the central development element.
Historical echo: the link between tradition and modernity, the body for so many echoes of what has been and what is to be.
Dynamism: a rhythm, vibration, pulse that is active and constantly changing.
Inclusivity: a sound and movement that calls, summons and connects. It unites past, present and future in permanence.
Braga's "synomatographic" brand: an identity that creates a system that allows it to iterate itself infinitely, like sound.
Braga is a city that vibrates inside and out, where tradition and the future coexist in dynamic harmony.
This "synomatographic" perspective thus translates into a flexible and open visual system that celebrates the multiplicity of the territory and its ability to constantly reinvent itself. A unique graphic language that vibrates, that resonates, with the possibility of creating a kind of mutation and pluralism - aggregated by a strong visual structure, proprietary to the place, created and exponentiated by everyone's memory.
The bell becomes a visual metaphor for movement and multiplicity. Echo. Vibration. Expansion. Braga with Braga inside.
Each "chime" represents a story, an idea, a person(s), a company that is born, a festival that takes place, a course that innovates, an evolution - among thousands of possible echoes and impacts. Memory, contemporaneity and the future.

Braga evolves to the rhythm of what marks it and those who mark its history. A printing house that climbs the Bom Jesus staircase, touches the future every 15 minutes and reinvents itself with a New Door open to all possibilities.
All in a continuous melody marked by the bells of the city and parishes, which pass through the past and the ever-present future.
A chromatic palette in three movements: bass, treble and middle tones.
The bass tones support the base, like the foundation of a solid, deep melody. The high tones rise, vibrant, bringing light and energy, echoing creativity and innovation. Between the two, the mid-tones strike a balance between intensity and softness, creating harmony and continuity in a visual composition that resonates with emotion and meaning.
A graphic and sound territory where every detail is part of a constantly changing whole.
Like a bell, it can mutate, rotate, vibrate - expanding in response to the visual and sound environment. Braga is, and always will be, a compass for what is to come.
We've created a "synomatomark" that resonates and vibrates, even if it's static. Even if it's photographically muted. It therefore echoes symbolically through elements that draw and recreate the sense of wave, expansion, propagation, vibration and sound - in shape and color.
The undulations, the radiations, the fluidity they form is a visible echo: sound becoming matter and matter becoming sound, under a photographic image that always pulses more than it appears. A visual universe that is sonorous by nature.
