The gentleman is Tiago Ferreira. Born in Porto, raised in Santo Tirso and exiled in Braga. He released his first EP EP in 2009, the year in which he also made his live debut. Since then he has been releasing his work regularly.
Cavalheiro's music is based on a conventional song concept, seeking through its identity to tell small narratives about more or less banal episodes of everyday life. Rather than celebratory or depressive music, it's a filtered record of emotions and feelings laid down over careful instrumentation.
Cavalheiro has performed live in a wide variety of formats, with the collaboration of different instrumentalists, on countless stages, from the most modest to the most prominent, in Portugal and Spain. What he seeks above all is intimacy, in a show where silence is almost as important as melody.
