Negrita is located on Avenida Central and is known for the smell of freshly ground coffee, with daily roasting and fresh grinding.
History
You can smell the coffee even before you enter number 177 on Avenida Central. At 'Negrita', founded in 1948, you can still buy the famous and aromatic Lote de S. Tomé, as in the past.
The smell of coffee is joined by that of spices and teas. And there's no shortage of Israeli peanuts, which José de Araújo, the founder's son, says are "the best in the world".
The store retains its traditional look, displaying the 'old' mills, scales, boxes and jars, paintings and sculptures of African origin.
Here you can feel the true spirit of traditional commerce, with loyal customers, some still from the time of the foundation. Every customer is considered a friend.
