The Medieval Tower or Torre de Santiago is an integral part of this ensemble and, from the top of its fifth floor, invites you to enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Permanent Exhibition:
A LIGHT SHONE IN THE DARKNESS!
The Pius XII Museum tells the story of human history.
The journey begins in the Paleolithic period and continues, duly illustrated, to Roman times.
A new adventure follows: John the Baptist announces it; the Blessed Mother brings the Savior into the world; the Apostles follow him; the Messiah goes through passion and death; he rises!
Christianity is spreading. Christians celebrate their faith. The center of Christian life is the Eucharist. The cross is the eloquent symbol of God's infinite love for humanity. And all this is told in the Liturgy Hall.
The Hamilton Gonçalves room invites you to stop. It invites you to meditate. It invites you to dive into God's passionate love, written in gold letters. What beauty! What a delight!

The next space shows visitors the passion of Jesus through crosses and calvaries, designed in imitation of the Indo-European style by the great mastery of José Maurício Teixeira Pereira.
In the last hall, the history of the Church is reflected in strategic notes: the evangelists and the martyrs; devotions, the great buildings and the great medieval saints; the Society of Jesus, the Council of Trent, St. Bartholomew of the Martyrs,
the Missions and the styles of modern art; in more recent times, the Church's presence in the social field, in its relationship with civil powers and in its relationship with the world. There is also an increase in three devotions: to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to the Eucharist and to Our Lady.
Finally, on the second floor, waiting for everyone, will be the greatest Portuguese portrait painter of the 20th century: Henrique Medina. An immense art spread over more than eighty beauties.

Guided tours by appointment only.
