Widows of Braga

Originating in the old Convent of Remédios, Viúvas de Braga is a regional sweet with a very similar presentation to pastel de nata. With egg yolks, sugar and a slight nutty flavor, this recipe was somewhat forgotten for many years, but has made a comeback thanks to historical studies on Braga's gastronomy, a search through the records of old families and Franciscan nuns.
