See more +The Seven Fountains are a historic hydraulic complex of great importance to Braga, with stone conduits, mines, wells and houses where the water was treated and decanted. For centuries, they were the city's main source of water supply, until the beginning of the 20th century, when the Cávado river catchment system was created.
Although today the volume of water is insufficient for current needs, the Seven Fountains represent a valuable heritage, the result of the work and dedication of the town councils over four centuries. It is essential to protect and enhance this ensemble, which includes visible structures and an underground labyrinth, recognized as a National Monument.
