Le cavaquinho est un petit cordophone populaire. L'origine du cavaquinho est douteuse. Gon\u00e7alo Sampaio pense que cet instrument, ainsi que la viole, est arriv\u00e9 \u00e0 Braga par l'interm\u00e9diaire des biscainhos. En fait, il existe en Espagne un instrument similaire au cavaquinho, de la famille des guitares, le requinto.
\nLa viola braguesa, \u00e9galement connue sous le nom de viola de Braga ou simplement de viola, est typique de la r\u00e9gion du Minho. Outre la taille la plus courante, il existe \u00e9galement la demi-viola braguesa, accord\u00e9e \u00e0 la tierce sup\u00e9rieure, et la requinta braguesa viola, accord\u00e9e \u00e0 la quinte sup\u00e9rieure. Elle se joue avec tous les doigts qui courent le long des cordes.<\/p>\n
